Fränkisches Seenland

The Franconian Lake District is an area with artificial lakes. The lakes were created mainly with the Danube-Main overpass, which was designed to balance the water distribution between the water-rich southern and the water-poor North Bavaria.

Today, the artificial lakes have grown together and are an essential part of Franconian tourism. Whether Altmühlsee, Brombachsee or Rothsee, from Greding, all lakes can be reached in a maximum of 30 minutes.

Whether bathing, sailing, surfing, stand up paddling, cycling or simply strolling: There are plenty of opportunities around the lakes.
